In partnership with Data for Social Good and Make the Road Nevada, this project surveyed registered Latino voters across the state and held in-depth focus group sessions with survey participants. Data for Social Good shares the finding from this research, including clips from the focus groups and the cluster analysis of the data, and Make the Road NV shares how this research is informing their organizing strategy.

The Latino Values research findings from Nevada became the foundation of MRNV’s Latinidad Project, an effort to write a new “Story of Us” for the collective Latino community across the state. By identifying the values and experiences that connect people across lines of difference—from concerns about immigration enforcement to family values and food—organizers built a shared story that is now woven throughout their year-round organizing. The goal is for more people to see themselves reflected, develop feelings of “belonging,” and believe they can create change together.

This kind of deep listening also led MRNV to launch a new legal program over the past year, including Know Your Rights workshops and emergency preparedness clinics. Organizers moved quickly to meet the immediate needs of real people, creating a foundation of trust and safety that makes deeper organizing and power-building possible.
