DPI has been leading research to better understand the beliefs, values and political identities held by diverse Latino communities. Previous survey-based research in partnership with Equis Lab in 2022 laid the foundation for community-specific values clusters. A further experiment in 2022 began testing the effectiveness of these findings in an on-the-ground program, in partnership with Florida Rising. This third phase of Latino Values research built upon these research partnerships and further explores how Latino communities think about themselves, their individual and community power, and their relationship to government. This research explored the nuance of Latino values and political identities in Arizona. Lisa Garcia Bedolla, from UC Berkeley, an expert in Latino political identity and Latino-focused voter engagement efforts, anchored the research in partnership with Arizona Center for Empowerment (ACE).
