Communities of color are often targets of vicious disinformation campaigns that decrease turnout, lower perceptions of agency, and diminish engagement prolonging the inequality of the status quo. In order to combat this, work has been done to understand the ways that grassroots groups organize their bases to become online ambassadors, and how they can leverage those constituencies through integrated digital and offline strategies to achieve electoral and legislative impact and combat disinformation. This breakout session will share and analyze the innovative digital work done by grassroots partners and the DPI learning cohort groups from spring 2020 through summer 2021.
