Understanding & Measuring Power
Understanding & Measuring Power
Building on lessons from the work of the DPI Organizing Lab, we have worked with our state partners to develop an analytic framework for how to understand and measure power. Our research in this arena is focused on better understanding the organizing inputs, collective capacities, and power impact of multiracial base-building organizations. This requires documentation of and innovation around the sophisticated ways organizers knit together a powerful member constituency, deploy varied strategies to advance campaigns, and shape their external environment to win material change in their constituents' lives.
