Steve Paul
Steve Paul leads One Pennsylvania with a clear mandate: build durable people-powered infrastructure that moves policy, develops leaders, and strengthens democratic participation for Black, brown, and working-class communities across the state.
Before stepping into the Executive Director role, Steve served as Pennsylvania State Director at the State Innovation Exchange, helping legislators advance racial, economic, and housing justice, most notably pandemic rent relief, and forging stronger alignment between governing champions and grassroots organizations.
Steve’s earlier tenure as One PA’s Regional Political Director included winning statewide vote-by-mail access, securing renter protections during COVID, and deepening the organization’s roots in community-led campaigns. His public service with Councilmember Helen Gym delivered system-level wins for Philadelphia students, including citywide hydration stations and universal breakfast in the classroom.
A proud graduate of Philadelphia public schools and a Haitian immigrant, Steve’s work is shaped by a belief that communities closest to the pain must be closest to the power. He is a new dad to three-year-old Solèy and four-month-old Nova.
